3 out of 5 stars pretty fun game, but very short   June 10, 2010

I am going to keep this short and sweet, this game is pretty fun, but it is very short, i beat it in 8 hours, and at 80 hours everyone is lvl 99 and has the best gear

4 out of 5 stars Great Naruto RPG   September 25, 2009
Mochi (New York, NY)
This games captures the essence of the world of Naruto and allows you to play with almost every character you would want to from the Hidden Leaf and Sand Village. The story could be a little stronger and after playing Bleach: 3rd Phantom RPG, I would have incorporated Bleach's story design (like watching the cartoon) and individual fight scenes after you've chosen your opponent and move (attack, justus, etc.). I also wish they made it a little more difficult as it only took several hours to complete the entire game. Overall, great start to Naruto RPG line and I hope they continue to develop more within this genre (maybe mix in a little Final Fantasy Tactics where you can develop your own character through the Shinobi ranks)!

4 out of 5 stars Great for Naruto Fans, Solid for newcomers to Naruto   June 19, 2009
Tristan A. Hayes (Richmond, VA USA)
Can I tell you that this game is fun. The first 30 minutes or so of it started off slow because it was teaches alot of the the basics, but after that point it gets to become real fun. Its a really nice RPG thats in the Naruto universe. I thought it would be catered toward kids since it is from TOMY but they really outdid themselves with it. The RPG elements such as jutsu, leveling up, tons of weapons and the variety of items, makes it all the fun. The only negative I have are that the voice clips repeat themselves alot (though I love hearing "Shadow Clone Jutsu" and "Naruto Uzumaki Barrage") and the Random Enemey Encounter Rate is quite high, fortunately Shikamaru makes it easy to flee. Definitely a must buy for any Naruto fan. Also, the story fits in at about after Tsunade has taken over as the 5th Hokage. The story though is one that wasnt in the manga nor in the anime. Also for non-fans of the series, it is a great little Turn Based RPG that incorporates some cheesy DS controls, but all in all a solid offering. Music wise, the work is solid with a catchy battle theme and results theme. Most of the actual Leaf Shinobi have voices too

2 out of 5 stars Path of the Ninja, uh, 3? No, 2.5, uh...   March 10, 2009
Karen C. Beverage (South Lake Tahoe, CA United States)
I think this game was horribly misnamed. I understand keeping "Path of the Nijna" as the title as it follows the same RPG-esqe combat and levelling system as its predecessor. HOWEVER, it cannot be called a sequel to the original Path of the Ninja.

For those of you familiar with the series, this game doesn't pick up where the last one left off. In fact, it skips somewhere between 30 and 40 episodes. Tsunade is already Hokage, Sasuke has already left, and the Sand has returned to being allies of the Leaf. The last game left off on Episode 80. These conditions dictate a start somewhere around 120.

Not only that, but the story doesn't follow the series like the the first Path of the Ninja *AT ALL* but rather includes an entirely new storyline that is, how should I say?, predictable, basic, and overly-linear. Plus, I beat story mode (the only mode I cared about) in just under 10 hours. Pfft.

In summation: if you love Naruto (as I do), you will probably find this game enjoyable (especially since the price went down). But if you DO love Naruto, be aware that this no longer follows the series (or for that matter, its predecessor) chronologically.

5 out of 5 stars Best game ever   January 10, 2009
I love this game. you can fight people to earn expierence point to gain levels. the more levels you have the stronger you are. you can buy weapons, armor, and items to keep you alive. You can also do stuff that is in the village, like watch movies and talk to people.
