Product Description Naruto and his friends face another series of tests to become ninja.
Amazon.com The 11th Box Set of Naruto encompasses most of Season 6 of the runaway hit ninja adventure. Although he was badly wounded by Sasuke when they fought at Final Lake, Naruto insists he will find his former teammate and bring him back to the Hidden Leaf Village. With that aim in mind, he, Sakura, and "Pervy Sage" Jiraiya search for Orochimaru's lair near the Hidden Sound Village. Although they fail to find the headquarters, they help restore the honor of the Fuma Clan of ninja. Unhappy with her performance on the battlefield, Sakura decides to become a medical ninja and begins studying as Lady Tsunade's apprentice. A second adventure brings back Naruto's old teacher and nemesis Mizuki, who tried to steal the Sealing Scroll: New evidence reveals that Orochimaru was behind that scheme. Mizuki escapes from prison with two grotesque brothers who resemble Sumo wrestlers. Naruto, Kakashi-sensei and Pakkun the summoning dog pursue Mizuki, who ultimately receives justice at his own hand. While Sakura pursues her medical studies, Naruto joins Hinata, Shino, and Kiba in an expedition to find the extremely rare Bikoshu Beetle that might be able to track down Sasuke--no one in the Hidden Leaf Village has any clue as to where he's gone. In these episodes, Orochimaru may remind viewers of Naraku in Inu-Yasha: an evil mastermind who seems less threatening that he should because he uses subordinates to fight the heroes, rather than engaging them himself. The Special Edition comes with a collectible figure of "Minininja Naruto." Land of Rice Paddies, Mizuki Strikes Back, and Bikochu Bug June 15, 2010 Lesley Aeschliman (Enumclaw, WA) Naruto Uncut Box Set 11 is a three DVD disc set that contains episodes one hundred and thirty-six through one hundred and forty-nine of Naruto. The first disc contains four episodes, the second disc contains five episodes, and the third disc contains five episodes and the special features. There are three story arcs included on this set. The first is Naruto, Sakura, and Jiraiya's mission to the Land of Rice Paddies. The second is the Mizuki Strikes Back arc. The third is the start of the search for the Bikochu bug arc.
The first extra included in this DVD set is labeled as "Production Art." This consists of fifteen pages, which are model sketches of some of the Naruto characters. There is a sneak preview for Naruto Uncut Box Set 12, which runs for roughly four minutes. Next is "From Sketch to Screen," which contains eight pages of storyboards from episode one hundred and thirty-seven. For each storyboard, you can choose to see the clip that the storyboard is for. You can also see the English credits in the "Extras" menu.
Next in the extras menu is a selection labeled "New From Viz Media." This link takes you to advertisements for Shonen Jump Magazine, the Naruto manga, and two pages featuring other Shonen Jump manga titles. A link in the extras menu labeled as "DVD Trailers" takes you to a set of trailers. There are trailers for: Bleach The Movie: Memories of Nobody, Death Note, Hunter x Hunter, and Buso Renkin. The final link in the extras menu is labeled as "Game Trailers," and it has trailers for: Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2, Naruto: Path of the Ninja 2, and Bleach: Shattered Blade.
Once again, these extras are what I've come to expect from the Naruto Uncut box sets. Even so, I still find myself wishing that Viz Media had gone to more effort to provide a better variety of extras on the sets, instead of being so "cookie cutter" with them. However, if you're a Naruto fan that wants to collect all of the episodes on DVD, then the Naruto Uncut Box Set 11 would be a good addition to your DVD library.
In order to write this review, I checked out a copy of this DVD box set through the King County Library System.
A great set March 24, 2009 Lisa Dougharty 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great set just like all of Naruto's box sets. Don't listen to any one when they say this is a bad set. I have all of the sets and they are all great. The anime on this set is great, to me it is no diffterent then on the other sets. So what these are fillers they are still great. They are well worth the money.
The start of 85 filler episodes March 10, 2009 D. Clopton 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
What more can be said that hasn't been said already? This is the first of six boxes that will contain the 85 "filler" episodes of Naruto. For those who don't know what defines an episode as filler it is the fact that the episode(s) in question are not based on the manga in which the series Naruto is derived. (Manga are Japanese comic books).

Now are these episodes actually worth the purchase? In my opinion yes they are worth the $30-35 you can find these sets for. The first story arc is six episodes long and follows Naruto, Sakura, and Jiraiya as they attempt to infiltrate Orochimaru's lair in pursuit of Sasuke. I thought the first half of this story was decent for what it was but quickly turned, for lack of a better word, weird. I also noticed that the premise of this series has been changing little by little since the very beginning of the show-less focus on Jutsu and more on just 'power,' which reminds me of Dragon Ball Z a bit. Now the second story arc brings back and old foe from the first season. Like the previous arc: started off great but seemed drug out a bit, but definitely watchable. Additionally there is a noticeable dip in animation quality as other reviewers have pointed out; not that Naruto was ever known for it's stellar animation. As of now we have covered the first twelve episodes of this fourteen episode set. Wrapping things up we have the beginning of a third story arc involving Naruto, Hinata, Shino, and Kiba searching for a special kind of insect they hope can assist them in their search for Sasuke.
Overall this set was definitely the worst of the eleven thus far, but as I stated earlier, definitely worth the thirty or so dollars if you are already a fan of the series. I was fortunate to dive into this set with the prior knowledge that this box contained sub-par filler episodes and such did not have high expectations.
I will be reviewing the remaining Naruto filler sets as they are released if you are interested in reading more of my reviews.
